When an IV drip may help
IV fluids are considered when you are dehydrated and cannot drink enough, for example after vomiting or diarrhoea, heat exhaustion or a feverish illness. The doctor checks whether a drip is right for you before anything is started.
- A doctor's examination always comes first
- Sterile, single-use equipment
- Monitoring for the whole duration of the drip, usually 30–60 minutes
- Advice on recovery and what to watch for afterwards
When an IV drip is not the answer
A drip is a medical treatment, not a wellness product. If the doctor finds signs of a more serious problem, such as severe abdominal pain or confusion, you will be referred for hospital care instead.
Travel insurance paperwork
After the visit you receive an itemised invoice and a medical report written in English by the examining doctor. These are the documents most travel insurers ask for when you file a reimbursement claim.
If your insurer offers direct billing, send us your policy number on WhatsApp before the visit and we will tell you whether it can be arranged.
